March 7th Smart Street Party

March 7th from 5-9pm is Smart Street Party time again.  With all five food businesses in the mall open plus several street food stalls, there will be dinner options to please all members of the family.

 

The twilight market starts at 5pm with dozens of artists, artisans, designers and craftspeople having stalls.

Buskers will entertain you from 5pm then from 7pm local band Foxchild will perform  fresh versions of the latest chart-toppers as well as the all time classics from the last four decades. Get up and dance the night away on the dancefloor provided by Simply Swing dance school.

This free community event is suitable for all ages.  What a great way to enjoy a balmy evening in our beautiful city.

 

February 14th Smart Street Party

Mr Sims Quintet

Our next Smart Street Party is on Valentine's Day, February 14th.  Bring your loved ones along for a fun night out enjoying tasty street food, browsing the fun twilight market and shops, listening to great music and dancing in the street.

From 5pm local teenage musical sensations Kids With Wolves will entertain the crowd.  Then from 7pm Mr Sims Quintet will perform their unique funky soulful jazz.  Simply Swing Dance School are bringing their gorgeous dance floor along for you to dance the night away.

February 14th is also Library Lovers' Day and Mandurah Libraries will have giveaways for lovers of books, reading and libraries.

Many of the shops and stallholders will have special treats for lovers, or those on the lookout for a special someone.  Come and join us for another wonderful evening in our beautiful city at this fun community event.

Just in case you haven't already noted the date and details of our next street party in your phone, diary and calendar, here they are:

Friday January 17th

Smart Street Mall, Mandurah.

For any locals who haven't already been to one of our previous two events, please do come on down.  If we say so ourselves, this is an excellent way to enjoy a summer evening in our beautiful city.  

For visitors to Mandurah, welcome!  You are invited to bring the family along and see another side of Mandurah as Smart Street Mall comes alive with this fun community event.

Mandurah is home to an amazing number of creative people and dozens of artists, designers and craftspeople are already booked in to sell their fabulous creations at our twilight market.  They'll be joined by an eclectic mix of other stallholders including many selling retro and vintage goods. This time we'll have more street food stalls than ever before.  Regular favourites will be back and will be joined by new stalls including gourmet burgers and a spit roast.

Local musicians will entertain you throughout the night including Sweet Sister featuring Ali Hill playing from 7pm.  Kick off your shoes and dance the night away on the gorgeous dance floor supplied by Simply Swing dance school.

Mandurah, at twilight, with our wonderful creative community showcased at a market, delicious food, a fun community vibe, fabulous music and dancing in the street.  What's not to love!

First-in, first-served at the Suitcase Market

Stall sites at the Suitcase Market are allocated on a first in, first-served basis and at only $5 each they are going faster than... dodgy old vinyl collections!  

To book a stall (or four) download the form from here and send it back to us quick-as-you-can.  

We can't wait to see what tempting goods stallholders bring in their suitcases.  Maybe I'll find the one Herb Alpert record I don't already own...

Children can be stallholders too

Children can be stallholders at the Suitcase Market too.  This is a great way for children to earn some extra pocket money.

Book your stall, clean out your toy box (or get crafty), then pack your goods into a suitcase and set up shop at the Smart Street Parties.  You need to be all ready to start selling by 5pm on the day but you don't have to keep you stall until the end of the event; just sell for as long as you like then pack up and whenever you are ready.

You are welcome to share a stall or book a group of stalls with you family, friends or club members.  Your suitcase can be any size and each stall costs $5.

Suitcase Market stallholder applications are open

There will be a Suitcase Market at the Smart Street Parties and stallholder applications are now open.

A stall site at the Suitcase Market only costs $5! 

Simply apply for a site then fill a suitcase (any size) with goods for sale, bring it to the event and get selling. You can pay for your stall on the day but you do need to apply beforehand as sites are limited.

Anyone can be a stallholder and you can sell whatever you like from your suitcase but preference will be given to hand-crafted items and quality second-hand goods. Children are welcome to be stallholders; this is a great way for children to clean out their toy boxes or get creative and earn some pocket money.
